Secret Life of Becky Miller by Sharon Hinck

I was drawn to this book by the wonderful blurt on the back cover:
Faster than a speeding minivan,
able to leap piles of laundry in a single bound,
it's a bird, it's a plane, it's...
SUPERMOM!
As a mom to five young kids I thought it anyone could relate with this character it would be me. And relate I could!
Becky Miller is the average Christian woman, wanting to do her best to raise her kids to love God, trying to have the best possible relationship with her husband, keep a nice comfortable tidy home and do big things for God in the process.
Becky is a real life character, she faces the same things that every mom does: having to change her shirt because the baby threw up on it, running late to get her child to preschool, pretending to listen to her son describe his fun-filled day at school.
If you are a mom with small children then this book is for you! You will relate with Becky and breath a sigh of relief to know that you are not the only one who feels so small in this task of motherhood.
A must read for every Christian mom of young kids!

As a mom who has just sent her last and sixth off to college, I can say that this book would be both a hoot and nostalgic for me. I remember the minivan days...until my all my sons' shoulders outgrew it! Then we moved to a suburban. Up here in Montana, our kids used to be able to get a license at 14 and a half. That was a stunning moment of freedom for me. Once my oldest could drive, it became a chore that passed down from kid to kid. They had to help drive siblings to activities. Sweet bliss! Supermom graduated from the minivan at the drive-up to the kitchen.
