Cover Image

Product Description
Kai Miller floats through life like driftwood tossed by waves. She's never put down roots in any one place--and she doesn't plan to. But when a chaotic hurricane evacuation lands her in Daily, Texas, she begins to think twice about her wayfaring existence. And when she meets hometown-boy Kemp Eldridge, she can almost picture settling down in Daily--until she discovers he may be promised to someone else. Daily has always been a place of refuge for those the wind blows in, but for Kai, it looks like it will be just another place to leave behind. Then again, Daily always has a few surprises in store--especially when Aunt Donetta has cooked up a scheme.

My Review
I was taken back by the wonderful skill Lisa has. She is able to put me right in the middle of the hurricane, I could almost smell Rador and Hawkeye (the dogs)!

Lisa's writing is amazing but the story itself didn't do much for me. I was never truly engaged to the point of losing sleep over it. To me, that is when a book is great.

Though the story was good and who doesn't love a good love story it just didn't grab me.

I do plan on reading another titles by Lisa (and I am open to suggestions as to which ones you all like!)

Because I have this next to new wonderful book sitting on my bookshelf, I'd like to give someone else the chance to read it!

I am an older follower and on my 4th birthday there was an earthquake. I can remember my father running into the room just as I woke up and moving in between me and a falling bookshelf. It scared me so badly because I though any of my porcelain items could have shattered and injured him. Luckily enough nothing shattered and my father and I were both okay. I never put another bookshelf that close to me while I slept again until I moved away. Even now I normally wont put anything that would have a chance of falling.

Wonderful contest idea!!! If you would like you can e-mail me and I will make you a button for it or for your blog.

Sincerely,
Emma Michaels

Natural Disasters, huh? I live in Kentucky and since September 2008, we have had a major wind storm, a flood, and an ice storm. During the wind storm and the ice storm we lost our power for about 5 days. The power outage wasn't so bad for the wind storm b/c it was in September and the weather was nice. During the ice storm the temperature in our house got to 39 degrees!! We stayed with family. I like plain old boring weather, thank you very much! :)

Driving across the country we hit stormy weather in Alabama. After a couple of horrible hours we decided to stop for the day. Just a mile down the road a tornado came through where we would have been wiping out everything in it's path. PTL, for God's protection!

Carman sent me to your blog! I am a new follower. Two years ago there was a tornado that went on the outskirts of our town. We were down in our basement and could hear the strong sound going around us. Luckily it didn't hit our town and only did minimal damage to a few buildings.
